What is a stress relief massage at Angel Massage?
A stress relief massage is targeted work on the three areas where most people carry their tension — shoulders, neck, and lower back. It is the session for desk workers, drivers, and anyone whose stress shows up as a tight upper body by the end of the day. We do not waste time on areas that feel fine; we go straight to where it hurts and stay there.
Pressure starts medium and builds based on what your body needs. We use thumb, forearm, and elbow techniques to release knots, then finish with longer flowing strokes so you do not leave stiff. The goal is simple: walk in tense, walk out lighter. Most regulars notice they breathe deeper and stand straighter within minutes of getting off the table. Want this for your visit? Tell us on the bottom right and we will plan your session.
Who is stress relief massage for?
Stress relief is the right choice when:
- Your shoulders feel like rocks — long hours at a screen, holding stress in the upper body.
- Your neck is stiff turning side to side — phone tilt, bad sleep position, long drives.
- Your lower back aches at the end of the day — sitting too long, light desk fatigue.
- You feel mentally wound up and need to physically reset before the weekend or before sleep.
- Headaches creep in by 4 PM — often connected to upper-trap and neck tension.
If your tension is whole-body and you want to slow down rather than work it out, Oil Relaxing is gentler. If you have deep, chronic knots that need real pressure, Deep Tissue is more intense. Stress Relief sits in between — focused but not punishing. Chat with us on the bottom right and we will help you decide.

What to expect at your stress relief session
Walk in any time from 9 AM to 9 PM. We check you in at the front and ask the important question: where are you carrying it today? Most guests point to their shoulders, neck, or lower back — sometimes all three. We note it down so the therapist focuses there from the first minute.
You go to a private room with a closing door, a clean massage table with fresh linens, soft light, and quiet music. We step out so you can change in privacy under the sheet to your own comfort level. Most guests for stress relief stay face-down most of the session because that gives the best access to back, shoulders, and neck.
Your therapist starts with warm-up strokes, then moves to pinpoint pressure on the areas you mentioned. Pressure stays in the medium-to-firm range — enough to release the knot, not so much that you tense up against it. If something feels too strong, just say so; we adjust on the spot. The session ends with looser flowing strokes so your muscles do not leave tight. Total visit usually runs 45 minutes door to door for the 30-minute session, 75 minutes for the 60.

Our therapists
All of our therapists are trained in stress-relief technique — they know the most common upper-body tension patterns and how to release them without bruising or leaving you sore the next day. They are used to guests who arrive on lunch breaks or right after work and need a clear, fast result. Communication is easy at check-in: just say where it hurts and how much pressure you can take. The team adjusts to you, not the other way around. Want to request a therapist whose pressure you liked last time? Tell us on the bottom right.
Stress relief massage FAQ
Is stress relief the same as deep tissue?
Not quite. Deep Tissue uses heavy, sustained pressure to break up chronic, deep knots — it is intense and you can be a bit sore the next day. Stress Relief is targeted but more moderate; the goal is to release everyday tension in shoulders, neck, and lower back so you walk out feeling lighter, not bruised. If you are not sure which fits your body today, chat with us on the bottom right and we will help you choose.
30 minutes or 60 minutes — which works better?
If your tension is mostly in one area like shoulders alone, 30 minutes at $40 can be enough. If you have shoulders plus neck plus lower back all complaining at once, the 60-minute session at $60 gives the therapist time to work each area properly without rushing. Most regulars who come weekly do 30 minutes; those who come less often do 60. Tell us your situation on the bottom right and we will recommend.
Will I be sore the next day?
You should not be. Stress relief uses moderate pressure, so any next-day feeling should be a "looser" sensation, not soreness. If you tend to bruise easily or have very tight muscles that have not been worked on in a long time, mention it at check-in so we start lighter. The whole point of this session is to leave feeling better than when you walked in — not worse. Any concerns? Send us a note on the bottom right beforehand.
I have headaches from neck tension. Can this help?
Yes — tension headaches are very often connected to tight upper traps, neck, and the base of the skull. Our stress relief session focuses on exactly those areas. We are not making medical claims, but most guests with stress-related neck tightness leave reporting they feel less pressure in their head. If your headaches are frequent or severe, please see your doctor first. To prepare your session, tell us where it usually starts on the bottom right.
Can I come on my lunch break?
Absolutely — the 30-minute session is designed for it. With a quick check-in, the actual massage takes 30 minutes, and the whole visit is usually done in 45 minutes. We are right on West Bell Road with free parking at the door, so no plaza walking. If you want a room ready when you pull in so you do not eat into your lunch, send your arrival time on the bottom right and we will hold one for you.
What if I'm really tense and need extra pressure?
Just say so at check-in or any time during the session. Our therapists routinely adjust pressure up or down based on what your body responds to. If you want consistent firm pressure throughout, that is closer to a Deep Tissue session — and the price is the same $60 for 60 minutes, so we are happy to switch you mid-session if needed. Tell us how heavy you want it on the bottom right.
