Quick Answer

Pick Swedish to rest: smooth strokes and light to medium pressure over the whole body. Pick Deep Tissue for a stiff back or tight shoulders: slower, firmer pressure. At Angel Massage Spa in Sun City, both are $40 for 30 minutes or $60 for 60.

How Swedish feels

Swedish feels smooth and even. Long strokes with light to medium pressure warm the whole body.

There is no deep work on knots. It suits a first massage, or an easy hour after a busy week. See our Swedish Massage page.

How deep tissue feels

Deep tissue feels firm and slow. Your therapist works into the back, shoulders, neck, and hips.

It should feel strong, never painful. Say so, and we ease off. See our Deep Tissue Massage page.

Which one to pick

Pick by your goal. To rest, choose Swedish. To work on tight muscles, choose Deep Tissue.

After a round of golf or a day of yard work, many guests ask for Deep Tissue. If one knot is the problem, Trigger Point is another option.

How firm is too firm?

Too firm is when you tense up or hold your breath. Good pressure feels strong while you still breathe easily.

Tell your therapist right away, and they adjust.

Mixing the two

You can ask for a mix: an easy pace overall, with firmer work on one or two spots.

Point to those spots before you start, and your therapist plans the time around them.

Price and booking

Both cost the same: $40 for 30 minutes or $60 for 60.
